Sabbatical

“I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in his word.” - Psalms 130:5

Dear friends,

We have reached a milestone - did you know it? The month of October will mark 15 years of me teaching yoga from a Christian perspective. It certainly does not feel like it has been that long, but here we are. Some of you have been attending GFY classes for nearly that long!

Every class, every year, every presence, every question, and every mid-pose comment with y’all has been a blessing. I am grateful beyond words that you have allowed me into a sacred space with you that we may practice yoga and worship God together.

However, it has become evident in my spirit that it is time for me to take some time off from teaching to refuel, reconnect, and rest.

My heart simultaneously breaks and feels at peace with this decision. Please know that I greatly desire to be with you, teaching you, and learning from you. But it is quite clear that this sabbatical is a journey I need to take with God, and I know he will order my steps.

Classes will continue as usual on Tuesday and Thursday evenings through September 22. However, I do not have a firm date of return to offer - I am waiting on God's direction in this. Of course, like most things to be discerned, I pray that I will hear, learn, and respond quickly ;)

I will be holding each of you in prayer during this time, and I ask that you would, also, please pray for me as I step into this unknown territory.

If you have any questions, comments, or want to meet up to chat, please feel free to reach out. I will still be around!

With love and gratitude,

P.S. - you are always welcome to take in a GFY class on our YouTube channel if you find yourself missing the dulcet tones of my voice ;)
